I logged onto http://get.wildblue.com/internet-provider/michigan/ and helped my aunt get internet service at her house. She is a very accomplished wood carver and lives out in the boonies of Michigan. My aunt has been written up in numerous art magazines since she started working in the mid nineteen sixties. She makes beautiful wooden bowls out of many different types of wood. The cool thing is that she works mineral into the wood for a really neat effect. She made my husband and I a bowl out of elm with inlaid turquoise. Since she got the internet she has been able to reach a wider audience than those who pass through her small stores and those who sell her work in galleries. She has starting listing some of her work on Etsy.com, a craft website. Now, she has almost more people contacting her for custom work than she can handle. She laughs and says that she is too old for her business to be picking up like this. I think that her new broader audience is great and has been a long time coming.
